Hear from some of our current staff

“There doesn’t seem to be anyone who doesn’t like their job or isn’t passionate and engaged.”

– New joiner, May 2018

Read on to find out more about what it’s really like to work for Ultrahaptics. And if you’re interested in joining us, check out our current vacancies.

Adam Harwood – Immersive Experiences Tech Lead

I joined Ultrahaptics in 2016, and within weeks I’d been given the challenge of using my Unity skills to turn an abstract academic study into a proper demo. And that was just the start of the ride. Since then, I’ve developed a VR experience from scratch in three weeks, travelled to Silicon Valley to work with AR pioneers Meta and learned how to lead an engineering team. It’s exciting to think about what opportunities will open next – the company is moving fast and growing rapidly, and there’s always something new on the horizon.

Dr Orestis Georgiou – Director of Research

When I first heard of Ultrahaptics’ technology, I couldn’t quite believe it was real. After a few hours of research, however, I was convinced mid-air haptics was based on solid science and was market-ready. A month later, I joined the company to oversee internal research and develop collaborations with external R&D groups. My job involves everything from studies into the effects of adding haptic feedback to gesture control systems, to the extraordinary Levitate project, to research into the ways haptics will enhance VR and interactive displays of the future. As a scientist it’s fascinating to be a part of a research field with so much impact potential.

Pip Regan – Programme Manager

Ultrahaptics’ technology is fascinating and ground-breaking, but that wasn’t the only reason I joined the company. It also had a great vibe and I’d heard good things about how highly integrity was valued. And, while no company is perfect, I can honestly say that I haven’t been disappointed. It’s also stimulating and challenging to be working on projects in lots of different markets, from automotive to VR. Different sectors require different project management techniques, so I’m continually developing and stretching my own skills. At Ultrahaptics I feel that I get a chance to make a real difference, both to how the company develops and to my own career.
